Welcome to The Lansdowne

Southport's Renowned Bistro & Bar

The restaurant is a great example of old meets new... with head chef and joint owner Patrick keeping all the Tyndal family dishes and executing them in the style that has been key to the success of the restaurant for the past 40 years over various restaurants around Southport by his father Mark.

Jamie Rae has come on board as business partner and long term friend of Patrick after a 6 year stint learning the hospitality trade in London's financial district and then also with the Living ventures group in the north west and together introduced a much improved varied wine list, gin perfect serve menu and also cocktail range.

The interior has a unique collection of hunting and fishing pictures and antiques with a few modern twists added with new glassware and the return of linen clothes ect and new music and lighting to enhance the ambiance of the restaurant.

Patrick specialises in preparing fresh seafood. (Lobster thermidoor, seafood platters) Game meat when in season, and our newest addition of shearing steaks.  Patrick is also known for the incredible sauces he produces for the different dishes and is a constant feedback comment from our guests.

The business is open Tuesday to Saturday:  5.30pm - 11.30pm

Our Reviews

"Visited Lansdowne Bistro recently for an anniversary meal & we were not disappointed. We pre-ordered the Tomahawk steak as a treat & it proved to be the best steak we have ever eaten. It was cooked to perfection & came with ample fries & veg & a peppercorn sauce. The staff are all very friendly & polite & would recommend you visit the Lansdowne in the near future. Well worth a visit"

Great service from the off, huge sea food salad to start, my partner had pork in peppercorn sauce main and I had cod fillet with prawns bordelaise.....sauce was devine....even the veggies were cooked to perfection...our first visit but won't be our last."
